Resettlement and Community Engagement Services for the Installation of Low Voltage (LV) Bifurcation and Network Improvement Activity at Kwabenya and Legon for the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) / Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) (2019) – Compact II.

The main objective of the LV bifurcation and network improvement activity is to reduce the distribution system technical losses in the ECG distribution network to internationally accepted standards through the bifurcation of LV feeders and injection of new transformers. It is also to improve the network condition through the replacement of poor joints and connections and the replacement of substandard fittings, poles, and conductors. The reduction of the LV losses and improvement of the network will result in the improvement of the quality of power supply and customer satisfaction.

The assignment was in two Phases. Phase One (I) of the assignment focused on assessments to identify and recommend alternative measures to avoid or minimize potential displacement and resettlement impacts likely to result from the Installation of Low Voltage (LV) Bifurcation and Network Improvement Activity and developing a Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) to manage displacement and resettlement impacts of the project. Phase Two (II) of the assignment focused on implementing the RAP in a manner that avoids delays to construction activities whiles ensuring issues of concern to Project Affected Persons (PAPs) are adequately addressed promptly.
