Baseline and Midline Data Collection for the Right to Play’s Learning through Play (LtP) P3 Project in Ghana for RTI International.

With funds from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, RTI International is conducting the Learning at Scales Research Study, which seeks to examine successful large-scale education programs in low and middle-income countries. To support the Learning at Scale Research, Devtplan Consult Limited was contracted by RTI to conduct, supervise and manage data collection in three (3) regions within Ghana. Data collected formed the basis of the baseline for the project, after which a midline tracer study was conducted in 2022. The assignment involved the assessment of Grade 1 children in 200 basic schools. It specifically involved;

Pupils’ assessments using an Early Grade Reading and Mathematics Assessment and a Social Emotional Learning Assessment;
Interviews with sampled parents and caregivers who send their children to these schools;

Interviews with the head teachers, teachers, and other education officials operating within the jurisdictions of the sampled schools.
