The Greater Accra Sustainable Sanitation and Livelihoods Improvement Project sought to increase access to safe and sustainable sanitation for the residents of the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area (GAMA), targeting the urban and peri-urban poor residents. The Project aimed at providing domestic and municipal level sanitation infrastructure, supporting skills development and livelihood improvements, and enhancing the capacity of sanitation service providers and the participating local government authorities to better deliver and manage climate-resilient sanitation services within GAMA. Devtplan Consult Ltd was contracted to conduct baseline studies among 4000 households in 22 Metropolitan and Municipalities within the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area (GAMA) to establish the existing sanitation situation within the selected Low-Income Urban Communities (LIUCs). The community engagement and sensitization campaign as part of the assignment was to also create sufficient awareness of the project among relevant stakeholders
